Facility Scanning
Utilizing our high-speed phase-based laser scanners, we can cover tens of thousands of square feet in a single day, depending on conditions and scope. This technology is perfect for plants, substations, refineries, boiler rooms, building interiors, etc.

Exterior / Topographic Scanning
Utilizing our long-range time-of-flight scanners, we can accurately measure objects up to and greater than 100m (328 feet) away. This is an excellent application for bridges, highways, building exteriors, stockpiles, etc.

Mobile Scanning
Utilizing our MoDaC^TM Mobile Data Collection system, we can quickly and effectively scan miles of roadway and infrastructure at posted highway speeds. Click [HERE] to read more.

Data Processing
CAD models in 2-D or 3D are generated from point clouds that can be output in any CAD format (AutoDesk, Bentley, PDS, PDMS, 3DS, Maya, Inventor, Revit, Pro/E, Solidworks, Catia, etc.).

Utilizing our specialized software, McKim & Creed can produce survey-grade CAD models and drawings of scanned objects. Our project managers work with you to define the scope and deliverables required, from the level of detail in the model to the layering schema requested, as well as the output file formats.

3D Models
As defined in the scope of your project, modeling consists of 3 basic "levels of detail" (LOD). These levels dictate how much effort and staff hours are required to produce the CAD objects that include your specified information.

Basic LOD: Major structural elements are shown, like walls, doors, windows, columns, floor, ceiling. Indoor objects such as piping, tanks and equipment are shown as very basic geometric forms to show the "volume" they take up in that space.

Medium LOD: All structural elements, as well as piping and equipment elements 2 inches and larger, are modeled.

High LOD: Everything in the space 1 inch or larger is modeled to the highest detail possible, including fasteners and auxiliary components such as gauges, cabling and conduit.
