As part of a federally funded grant program that supports the training of underserved minority students seeking to enter the transportation industry, McKim & Creed is teaching five students from Palau the technical skills associated with subsurface utility engineering (SUE).
McKim & Creed became involved with the program as a corporate social responsibility partner with KnowledgeWell. The students work with McKim & Creed’s surveyors and SUE technicians two days a week, and also work in training labs provided by the N.C. Department of Transportation. They will complete a total of 100 days of training.
Ultimately, some of the students will become McKim & Creed employees and will join the SUE team in Guam, where McKim & Creed is establishing a new office. Click here for more information.
