FES Journal: Successful Design-Build Sets Precedent
Hillsborough County, Florida recently completed the award-winning Dale Mabry Diversion Pipelines project, setting the precedent for additional design-build projects included in an the $250-million Northwest Hillsborough Consolidation Program. Through the successful completion of the program, the county will ultimately retire two aging wastewater treatment plants and consolidate treatment into one facility that will serve the area’s wastewater needs for decades. The consolidation program is estimated to save the county approximately $86 million in operation and maintenance costs over the next 20 years. It is the largest consolidated capital improvement program ever undertaken by Hillsborough County.
An in-depth article about the successful design-build project was featured in the October 2017 edition of FES Journal, published by the Florida Engineering Society. Click on the image at left to download the article.
