SUE Services on East Coast Led by Bill Wudte

McKim & Creed announces that William (Bill) Wudte has been promoted to vice president and regional director of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) services for the East Coast. Bill is based in McKim & Creed’s Sarasota office, where he has been serving as the firm’s regional SUE manager for the state of Florida.

For nearly 30 years, Bill has worked extensively with electric and natural gas providers, design consultants, local municipalities, state departments of transportation, universities, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and others to help minimize utility conflicts during the planning, design, and construction phases of projects. He is an expert in all four quality levels of SUE work; which range from researching utility records to excavating underground utilities; and is an expert at helping his clients determine which SUE services are best suited for their projects.

Bill has overseen hundreds of SUE projects throughout Florida. He has managed SUE services on a portion of the $2.3-billion I-4 Beyond the Ultimate project and continues to provide oversight for SUE services on large energy industry projects that will move vulnerable overhead utility lines underground to protect them from severe storms.

“SUE has become McKim & Creed’s fastest growing service line, accounting for more than 35 percent of our total geomatics business this year,” said David Jones, PLS, CFS, McKim & Creed senior vice president of geomatics. “Bill and his team have done an outstanding job leading these efforts.”
