Siesta Key to Casey Key Potable Water Main

McKim & Creed provided engineering services for preliminary and final design, permitting, easement acquisition assistance, bidding and construction services for approximately 4,100 LF of 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch diameter potable water main. The water main was constructed between the southern tip of Siesta Key and the northern tip of Casey Key and involved crossing the Jim Neville Marine Preserve, Little Sarasota Bay and beach dunes with distinct protected and endangered wildlife such as the Florida manatee, sea turtles, gopher tortoise and shore birds.

The construction included 1,400 LF of pipe installed via open trench, and 2,700 LF of 10-inch drainage pipe installed by subaqueous horizontal directional drilling.
