Hernando County Utilities Department purchased the Spring Hill utility systems from Florida Water Services, more than doubling the size of the county’s water system. To accommodate the acquisition, McKim & Creed provided services for an updated hydraulic model and developed a Water Supply Master Plan. The Water Supply Master Plan identified several priority projects, including the construction of a new water treatment plant in the northwest quadrant of the county. McKim & Creed assisted the HCUD in siting the proposed facility and provided design engineering and the associated water transmission main necessary to connect the new facility with the county’s existing water distribution system.
