In a quaint bungalow in this historic community lives a stormwater pumping station. And this neighbor offers something no other resident does – the ability to alleviate neighborhood flooding during rain events.
What appears to be a bungalow-style house with a spacious front porch and grassy front yard is actually the home of a 35-mgd stormwater pump station built specifically to blend into the neighborhood. Additional enhancements featured as part of the award-winning, $4.8-million project include improvements to the stormwater collection system, installation of nutrient removal boxes, and a new marine outfall structure.
