McKim & Creed furnished monthly mine stockpile 3D laser scans to provide volume calculations and mapping of the phosphate stockpile inventory at PCS Phosphate (now Nutrien Aurora Phosphate). From the 3D scans, surveyors created a digital terrain model of the stockpiles that was used to calculate the volumes. A 3-ft. sample grid was created and transferred to AutoCAD for an independent quality assurance effort performed by the client. The scans were performed each month to inventory changes in stockpile volumes, and volume reports were submitted within 48 hours of each monthly scan completion.
