Allegheny Health Network (AHN) made an investment to upgrade its Grove City Hospital’s IT infrastructure to strengthen a vital healthcare facility located between Erie and Pittsburgh.
AHN’s general contractor hired McKim & Creed to serve as the engineer for mechanical, electrical, and IT cabling upgrades at Grove City. These upgrades included establishing new telecom rooms for re-cabling the hospital, including installation of new HVAC units, the addition of both normal and emergency UPS power distribution to each telecom room, lighting, telecom racks, patch panels, cable trays, cable management, fire alarms, sprinklers, and grounding. All upgrades equipped the facility to support a new higher-speed, resilient network platform.
The entire Hospital IT infrastructure is now re-cabled using blown fiber optic backbone to redundant core telecom rooms, multi-pair copper backbone, and new category 6 horizontal cabling to all voice/data and wireless access point locations.
