The BRITE Center is part of a statewide initiative to provide a hands-on learning experience for undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers in North Carolina’s growing biomanufacturing research and biotechnology industry. McKim & Creed provided engineering services consisting of site development and construction drawings for the four-story 65,000 square foot building on North Carolina Central University’s campus. In addition, McKim & Creed provided construction observation services for the project and evaluated the design calculations of the existing underground detention system to determine adequacy for the increased impervious surface of the building.
