McKim & Creed’s surveying and engineering services support the installation of four electrical vehicle (EV) DC fast chargers for school buses at the Cherokee Boys Club. The Boys Club furnishes all school bus and charter bus service for the Cherokee Central School System, as well as charter services for churches, communication organizations, county schools, Western Carolina University and Southwestern Community College. The chargers will serve school buses.
As the surveying consultant on this project, McKim & Creed is providing topographic surveying to locate and map above-ground planimetric features and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) to designate existing utilities.
Our electrical engineers are calculating load demands, designing power service for a new utility transformer, coordinating the power and communications required for the equipment, and creating a design for area lighting.
Civil engineering services include site and grading planning. Structural engineers are designing structural concrete pads to support the inverter pads and transformers.
In addition to surveying and engineering, McKim & Creed is furnishing limited construction administration services.
