McKim & Creed is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services (MEP) for science and technology facilities on Wake Technical Community College’s (WTCC) new Eastern Wake 4.0. When completed, the 106-acre campus will feature smart technology facilities. Eastern Wake 4.0 will provide the resources to train first responders for real-world situations. The campus will also provide state-of-the-art UAS labs as well as classes in general education, robotics, mechatronics, and bio agriculture.
McKim & Creed is furnishing MEP services for the 76,000-SF Public Safety Simulation Complex and the 110,000-SF General Education building #1. In addition to engineering, we were involved in numerous program coordination meetings with WTCC leadership. These meetings enabled the team to review and plan the campus MEP systems. McKim & Creed also provided the geothermal test wells for the Eastern Wake 4.0’s central energy plant. In addition, we are furnishing commissioning services for the central energy plant.
In total, these projects represent 210,000 square feet and more than $120 million in construction costs.
