This elevated water tank project consisted of the construction of a one-million-gallon pedisphere-type potable water storage tank and approximately 13,500 linear feet of 8-, 12-, 16- and 20-inch water main, including isolation valves, fire hydrant assemblies and tie-ins.
In addition to being a distinctive city landmark, this water tower provides storage for a significant additional volume of drinking water to the south portion of the City of Gonzales. The water tower serves both existing commercial and residential development and future growth for the city. It furnishes increased water pressure and volume for fire protection use by several commercial establishments in the surrounding areas, including Cabela’s, Home Depot, Tanger Outlet Mall, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Holiday Inn.
Services included design, bidding, construction administration and construction observation. The project received a “Best of Show” award from the Louisiana Municipal Association.
