The Flats on Front is a 273-unit multi-family luxury housing facility that offers river views and serves as an entryway to downtown Wilmington.
The public-private partnership provides luxury housing for the city’s growing downtown population. Situated on nearly six acres, the project features a pool, fitness facilities, a party terrace, TV lounge and outdoor entertainment spaces. Twelve-foot sidewalks and extensive landscaping offer a pedestrian-friendly connection between 4th Street and Front Street. The project is across from Sawmill Point Apartments—which McKim & Creed also designed—and adjacent to the city’s proposed North Waterfront Park.
In a Star-News article, Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo was quoted as saying, “Projects like The Flats on Front continue the investment local officials and private entities have made in downtown Wilmington.”
