At the heart of every hospital is its boiler room. Running virtually nonstop, hospital boilers produce the steam that heats, humidifies and sterilizes the facility and generates the hot water that supports domestic uses, laundry, and kitchen activities.
McKim & Creed provided Heritage Valley Hospital with a study of the existing steam boiler plant that concluded all three boilers and associated equipment needed to be replaced.
McKim & Creed then provided services for the installation of a 600 BHP high pressure steam boiler plant. At various locations, the steam pressure is reduced to serve the exact equipment and their steam load.
The replacement of three boilers required a phased removal design to maintain normal operations as all three existing boilers were replaced. Surge tank, deaerator and blowdown separators were replaced during the course of the project.
