McKim & Creed’s aerial and mobile scanning system teams worked collaboratively to provide comprehensive survey and as-built visualization modeling for a road widening project near High Point, NC. This project utilized the company’s VI iOne-IMS NADIR and oblique cameras to obtain RGB imagery to assist with feature classification and model rendering. The integration of the dense vertical collection of the mobile scan with the dense horizontal collection of the aerial scan resulted in a highly detailed, broad-scaled, 3D model of the area. Additionally, McKim & Creed provided digital orthophotography and ground surveys of the area.
The implications of this integration of LiDAR platforms and technology suggest a wide range of future applications.
