McKim & Creed served as the prime consultant for eight bridge replacement projects in Edgecombe, Halifax and Wayne counties. The existing bridges were to be replaced with corrugated aluminum box culverts in the same location. These projects required roadway, hydraulic and structural design; utility coordination; and traffic control plans from the design team. Hydraulically, these projects required supplemental field surveys, bridge/culvert modeling for approval of an MOA through the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program and erosion control plan preparation. Services provided by McKim & Creed included roadway design (using corridor modeler), hydraulic design, erosion control, structure design and utility coordination.
