RTI Campus Building Automation System Upgrades

RTI International is one of the world’s leading independent, nonprofit research and development organizations. Its mission is to improve the human condition. It does this through an objective and multidisciplinary approach—one that integrates expertise across the social and laboratory sciences, engineering, and international development. RTI works closely with some of the world’s leading research universities, engages in trailblazing scientific initiatives with multilateral donors and foundations, serves as trusted partner to government agencies around the world, and provides evidence-based insight to commercial entities.

The company’s global headquarters is in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. McKim & Creed was the designer of record for the replacement of the campus-wide, legacy Building Automation System (BAS), which encompasses 15 buildings and 750,000 SF. The new system embraces modern technology such as mobile device-ready software, utility analytics for building and sub-building level metering, and automatic fault detection. The new BAS minimizes the need for multiple platforms, conserves energy, and creates safe, pleasant, healthy and productive workspaces for people who are improving the world.
