McKim & Creed provided engineering for the 435 kWp St. Pete Pier Solar Canopy in St. Petersburg, Fla. Our team worked with a major energy provider on the concept and then implemented the electrical photovoltaic (PV) design for the site. Electric vehicle (EV) chargers were also specified and integrated into the electrical design for the site. The technical single line drawings were prepared for the interconnect application.
Since the St. Pier construction was already underway with the solar canopy array, McKim & Creed’s team coordinated underground and service equipment with the Pier contractor. Our team helped implement a unique control scheme required for the solar generation for the new facility.
During construction, McKim & Creed reviewed the equipment submittals and worked with the contractor to modify electrical work due to structural modifications to the canopy support pier and provided equipment reviews prior to installation by the contractor.
