McKim & Creed provided surveying, permitting and civil engineering services for three urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) tank fields at NC Ports’ Port of Wilmington.
Operating 24/7, the terminal includes two 130-foot x 48-foot UAN tanks, each capable of holding 25,000 short tons of product; one 25-foot x 32-foot ammonium thiosulfate (ATS) tank, which holds 400 short tons; a fully automated truck loading facility; a rail spur extension and reconnection; and automated unloading and loading distribution piping.
From the Port, the UAN is distributed via rail and truck to agribusiness customers throughout the Southeast and Midwest.
