The existing electrical substation delivery was antiquated and becoming increasingly unreliable, with a limited number 12.47 kV circuits. Electrical load studies and projections were used to prepare a two-phased plan that was implemented over five years for design and construction. An electrical master plan was developed to integrate electrical power needs to support new facilities and future site expansions identified as identified within the overall campus master plan. Two design and construction projects replaced antiquated electrical infrastructure, increased reliability, and provided expansion capabilities. An updated electrical master plan was prepared in 2011 in concert with the overall campus master plan.
