Trenchless technology

Trenchless technology allows underground utilities to be installed, replaced or renewed with minimal excavation and disruption to residents, businesses and traffic. Trenchless construction techniques are often more environmentally sensitive and cost effective than traditional surface excavation methods and can be used in fragile environments where open-cut is not an option.

McKim & Creed is one of the top trenchless design firms in the U.S. We have extensive experience with multiple trenchless technologies—including horizontal directional drill (HDD), microtunneling, and bore and jack—and have overseen numerous complex installations. This is in addition to the hundreds of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) projects we perform each year. At McKim & Creed, we understand the complexities of trenchless construction and offer the engineering and surveying expertise to meet those challenges.
