Project Manager Discusses Microtunneling on Radio

McKim & Creed Project Manager Robert Garland, PE, PG, ENV SP, recently discussed microtunneling on Sunday Morning, a news and public affairs service of the Cox Media Group in Tampa Bay. Robert and host Mimi Lawson talked about the City of Sarasota’s Lift Station 87 project, which is a new, above-ground 9.5 million gallon per day lift station that will improve wastewater service and reliability for City of Sarasota customers and protect the environment.

The first piece of the multi-phased project to be constructed is the microtunnel under Hudson Bayou. This is critical to the success of the project, and involves installing segments of a 36-inch wastewater main under the environmentally sensitive Hudson Bayou and a historical bridge.
