To provide an alternate source of water for irrigation of UNC athletic fields, McKim & Creed implemented a non-potable water design concept that was used to prepare final design and construction documents for the Bell Tower cistern and to modify the Hooker Fields cistern. Because the Bell Tower was already under construction, McKim & Creed expedited design on a design-build basis for all non-potable and reclaimed water infrastructure. We worked closely with the architect, UNC Facilities Engineering and the contractor to ensure that the non-potable and reclaimed water improvements did not adversely impact the Bell Tower project schedule.
