United Engineering Group, prior to acquisition by McKim & Creed, was the prime designer for the Campus Infrastructure Development for the Charlotte Research Institute Campus at UNC Charlotte. The project included roads and utilities, power distribution and a regional utility plant (RUP), plus utility coordination for the new construction of the Applied Optics & Physics, College of Education, College of Health & Human Services, Engineering Research and Science & Technology buildings. The RUP2 design goal was to meet the immediate needs and to expand as the CITI Campus grows.
